If you're after a fast cheap luxury car like these in EcoBoost form i recommend also looking at a 4.6/5.0 Hyundai Genesis. the engines are more reliable, have a bit more power and are smoother/more befitting of a luxury car, nicer interiors too. These did make my short list though they're a lot of car for the money

I had a 2011 fusion sel for 9 years loved it. Great mileage...40mpg. Handled well. Comfortable..no tire issues. upgraded to 2019 fusion titanium . Love it! I just wish it got as good mpg. Its only averaging 27mpg on highwY

I don't like the electric parking brake, but these days everything has one. In Australia the base model is called "Ambiente" ( which I hate) but at least it doesn't have any badging to embarrass you. The previous model ( from 2007 to 2015) Mondeo had electric seat height adjustment, the base model after 2015 is manual. Works OK but seems like a backwards step. The auto stop/start is a PITA, but it's pretty easy to get into the habit of switching off when you switch the parking brake off. I think the bonnet (hood) might feel a bit light because it's aluminium. In Australia they have gas struts so you're not really handling it anyway. Seems weird they don't have gas struts on US versions.

Those rims are too big for that car. That is why you have to keep buying tires for it. Its sells because it looks good nobody tells you about you will be replacing tires every 20k miles.

I think you could get the 2009-2011 E89 Z4 as the sDrive30i 6MT with the 3L N52 base engine and manual transmission. I think after that they went to the 2.0T as the base engine. The E89's are great, but I personally like the E85 because a convertible should be a ragtop (grew up before folding hardtops), you can actually use your trunk with the top down, lighter weight, more sporty / less GT. But you just about can't go wrong with the Z4 line. Also, I'd be interested to see how many of these are manual vs. automatic. I think by far most first gen Z4's are automatic - manuals are tougher to find (or MT people are more reluctant to sell!) But I love the manual too! - 2008 Deep Metallic Green, Extended Saddle Leather, Type 108 Asymmetical Wheels, 3.0si, 6MT. Love it.

The reason for the wear on the tires are the offset camber and possible tow direction of the front wheels if not checked on the this fusions.

You didn't do your homework properly, did you? The wind deflector which you lament the absence of, can be purchased separately. However, if your car has the interior comfort pack, the wind deflector is part of that and is unobtrusively stored behind the rear seats; seats that, btw, fold down to give unimpeded access to the trunk (just like a hatchback). It is an option that wasn't ticked when the car that you drove was specced. The car also lacks the convertible comfort pack that includes stuff like the air scarf that blows warm air onto the neck of the front seat occupants. As for your cons, life is always a trade off. Sure, there is little trunk space with the roof down but all that means is that if you have to transport stuff, either keep the roof up or use the back seats. You also moan that you lose the use of the back seats if you use a wind deflector. So, don't use the wind deflector if you have back seat passengers. Seems to me that you want to have your cake and eat it. The easy way to not have to deal with the inconveniences of a convertible (any convertible) is to buy the coupe or the sedan, duh.

The 2.0 is plenty of motor in this small suv. The 2.3 would be better if your mostly hauling more then 2 people and towing something close to it's max tow numbers. Massachusetts to South Carolina was a breeze to drive in a 2017 Lincoln MKC awd 2.0. Averaged 25-26mpg at mostly 80mph. I never felt like the vehicle was underpowered or in the wrong gear. The cabin was quite and the ride was comfortable for a small suv. The MKX/Nautilus would be better for more room, comfort and power with a full cabin. The MKC is better for 2 adults and cargo, the back seat is best for small adults or children. It's a definitely better alternative to the similarly priced Ford Escape. So if you like the Escape you'll love the MKC/Corsair 🤙🏽🇺🇲

Mine is on 98,000, and I've just have to had a rocker cover replacement (£1100) due to an oil leak (which caused smoke in the cabin as it was burning off the engine). Other than that, no issues. Its very quick however I wish I'd have had a petrol engine.
